Hi, I’m lindsey coates.

If we haven’t met already, I’m looking forward to meeting you.

While therapy will primarily be about YOU, our relationship is key to the process. The more authentic and real we can be with one another, the more effective therapy will be. So here’s a bit about me:

I care deeply about my relationships. I am a friend, daughter, wife, and mother. When I think about what I want for my daughters, I realize this is the same thing I want for everyone (and essentially why I became a therapist): I want us all to feel loved, seen, and supported. To have the freedom to be our whole selves.

I also value time in nature, and I consider myself lucky to live, work, and play here in Durango, CO. I have a lot of fun coaching women’s mountain biking, as it’s challenging, empowering, and a joy to share with others. In my mind, it’s therapy on wheels!

I earned my masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Montana State University in 2010 and have practiced as a therapist in many different capacities in many different cities (from coast to coast!): a college counseling center, a trauma treatment center, a residential treatment center for adolescent girls, and as a parent coach in a pediatric psychiatry setting. After taking several years off to be with my young children, I am excited to open my own private practice.

I aim to approach each of my clients with authenticity, curiosity, and compassion. I also like to laugh and hope you do too.
